Our doors opened in January 2022, and since then, we have been dedicated to fostering a rich and supportive school environment. At Mälardalen International School in Västerås we offer a high-education to all our students. Our mission is to create an IB world school that creates caring, knowledgeable and independent individuals. Our International School in Västerås is an IB Candidate School which means that we provide educational programs to students, with the aim of fostering a better and more harmonious world. Our two programs are designed to challenge students and encourage their personal growth.
In a constantly evolving world, we recognize the significance of cultivating skills, fostering critical thinking and upholding democratic values. As well as promoting sustainability as a vital groundwork.
We are dedicated to provide and prioritize high-quality education and work closely with our exceptional teachers. Alongside partners like Northvolt and Hitatchi, we emphasize intercultural understanding as essential in the modern world. Our aim is to develop caring and globally-minded individuals who contribute to a peaceful world through respect and cultural awareness. We encourage students to be lifelong learners, embracing diverese perspectives and acknowledging the validity of different opinions.
At MISV we have a Global Student Community with students from over 23 different nationalities, representing 26 languages. Moreover, we take pride in our staff, who have 100% international experience in teaching the IB curriculum.

In Västerås, there are lots of things to do that are both fun and educational for parents and kids. You can learn about Västerås history by visiting Västerås Castle, step back in time at Anundshög Ancient Burial Ground or see fasinating old drawings on rocks at Sigurdsristningen. On rainy days, you can have a blast at Kokpunkten Water Park or explore interesting things at the Mälardalen University Museum. Västerås has plenty of family-friendly activities, so you can make special memories that will last a long time.
