Welcome to Mälardalen International School (MISV) in Västerås, near Stockholm. MISV is a primary school for children aged 5-16 with the mission to offer students from across the globe a nurturing and enriching school environment. Our International School opened the doors for the first time in January 2022 and ever since we have been passionate about creating a learning journey that fosters growth, ignites curiosity, and prepares students for a bright future.

At Mälardalen International School in Västerås, near Stockholm we offer a high-education to all our students with a mission to create an IB world school that creates caring, knowledgeable and independent individuals. Our International School near Stockholm is an IB Candidate School which means that we provide educational programs to students, with the aim of fostering a better and more harmonious world. Our two programs are designed to challenge students and encourage their personal growth.
In a constantly evolving world, we recognize the significance of cultivating skills, fostering critical thinking, upholding democratic values, and promoting sustainability as a vital groundwork.
Traveling between cities should be easy and functional. Especially when living and working in two different places. Traveling from Västerås to the Central Railway Station in Stockholm takes about 75 minutes by car and 56 minutes by train. So when we say that our international school is nearby Stockholm, we really mean it.
If not traveling by car, it is both practical and easy to wave your children goodbye for the day and continue to reach your destination with a 14 minutes bus from MISV to the Central Station in Västerås. In total, it takes about a maximum of 70 minutes to reach Stockholm from Mälardalen International School by traveling with bus and train.
Moving to a new country or city can be as exciting as starting in a new school. In Västerås, you'll find a wide range of activities that combine education, adventure, and entertainment for both parents and children.
In Västerås you can explore its history at Västerås Castle, step back in time at Anundshög Ancient Burial Ground or see ancient rock carvings at Sigurdsristningen. If it's a rainy day have a splash at Kokpunkten Water Park or learn at the Mälardalen University Museum. Activities in this city are many and fun for the whole family that will make memories last for a lifetime.
